Guests at Casa Rif and El Tinao in Cañar are just a few yards from 2 bars serving tapas and meals, along with a well-stocked grocers open 7 days a week...

Cañar

Orgiva

Orgiva is the largest town in La Alpujarra, always lively, and is a 15 minute drive from The Glass House, Casa Rif and El Tinao...

Busy busy at the weekly Orgiva market...

Cadiar

... while 15 minutes' drive from The Mill, Cadiar has a new Carrefour Express, a good fresh food market as well as a street market twice a month.

Charming little Juviles  - a tiny village with a big history, being the scene of the Moors' last stand in Spain in 1571 - is a 15 minute walk from The Mill, and has a good bar and a large jamon serrano "secadero" which sells direct to the public.

Soportujar

Soportujar's tapas bars are a 15 minute stroll along the GR7 from The Glass House - past the witch in her cave, of course, and isn't she lovely?

Finally, we're frequently asked which car hire company we recommend. We usually suggest Malaga Car or Niza Cars - they're both based outside the main airport terminals, so you should avoid queueing in the arrivals hall.
